Sensei Mohammed Ismaeel Sher
Sensei Sher began his martial arts journey in 2002 at the age of seven, and brings over 23 years of continuous training and practice to his teaching. He holds the rank of 1st Dan Black Belt in Shotokan Karate and has experience instructing students from beginner level through to 1st Dan black belt.
Alongside his Shotokan foundation, Sensei Sher has broadened his understanding of real-world combat and movement through cross-training in Muay Thai, MMA, and fencing, allowing him to adapt traditional karate principles into practical, modern self-defense applications.
He has competed extensively at a national level, achieving 3rd place finishes in both kata and kumite, and has represented England as part of the SKC England Squad. These experiences shaped his focus on composure under pressure, precise technique, and disciplined preparation.
Sensei Sher’s teaching philosophy balances traditional Shotokan fundamentals with realistic self-protection, emphasizing awareness, control, and efficient movement over aggression. His goal is to help students build confidence, technical accuracy, and the ability to apply martial arts meaningfully in everyday life.
